Trinity Presbyterian Church of Surfside Beach

Ray Dobell is a second-year seminary student, studying both as a MDiv and MACE student at Union Presbyterian Seminary on the Charlotte Campus. In 2023, Ray joined Kingston Presbyterian Church in Conway, first as a singer in the choir, then as a full member, and later answering the call into ministry with the support of his church family in his full-time role,

Ray also teaches both band and choir at Socastee Middle School, holding students to high rigor and reflective learning. He serves as President of Theatre of the Republic and has been on the stage, backstage, and on the production team of many shows since 2021. Ray has a heart for ecumenical work and advocates to his local Conway officials on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community and for uniting local churches through various events in recognition of how we are all children of God.

His home is in Conway, SC with his two cats, where he very much enjoys the wonders of God's creation in the tranquil woods and flowing waters, feeling the breeze and knowing that God's work is very much alive in the world we share.
